Billing without handing your books to a website

Most "free invoice generator" sites want an account, stamp a watermark on the PDF unless you pay, or quietly keep a copy of every client and amount you type. Ledger does the whole job on your device: your business profile, logo, price list, and saved documents live in this browser's own storage, the PDF is produced by your browser's own print engine, and nothing is ever uploaded. No account, no watermark, no limits.

How to use it

• Set up your business once — click Edit business… to save your name, address, logo, tax/VAT number, default currency, tax rate, payment terms, and a numbering prefix. You can keep several profiles (e.g. two businesses) and switch between them.
• Build a price list — Price list… stores the things you sell with their prices, so a line item is a click (or start typing a description and it auto-fills the price).
• Make the document — pick Invoice, Quote, or Receipt, fill the client and lines, and watch the paper preview update live. Numbers increment automatically.
• Save & print — Save keeps it in this browser's archive (open or duplicate it later); Print / PDF opens your browser's print dialog — choose "Save as PDF" for a clean, selectable, watermark-free file.

Keep a backup

• Everything lives in this browser on this device — clearing site data, or switching to another machine or browser, means it won't be there. Use ⇄ Backup to export a single JSON file of all your profiles, price list, and documents, and to import it on another device. Keep that file somewhere safe.

Honest limitations

• The PDF comes from your browser's print dialog, so exact margins and page breaks depend on the browser. Chrome/Edge give the cleanest result; turn off "Headers and footers" in the print dialog for a borderless page.
• Tax is a single rate applied to the items you mark taxable (after any discount). It isn't tax software — for multiple tax bands or jurisdiction rules, check the figures against your accountant's advice.
• Data is per-browser and per-device. It is not synced or backed up for you — that's what the backup file is for.
