Open a .docx, make your changes, save it back as a .docx that opens cleanly in Word, LibreOffice, Google Docs, and Pages. Formatting, headings, bullet and numbered lists, tables, and images all survive the trip. Markdown, HTML, and plain text open and save too, and 🖨️ PDF prints through your browser's print dialog.
This is deliberately a quick-edits editor, not an Office replacement. Open a heavily-designed document — custom styles, headers and footers, footnotes, tracked changes — and those parts are simplified down to this editor's vocabulary when you save. For a typo fix in a simple letter, that's exactly what you want; for a 90-page thesis with citations, use the real thing. The editor autosaves your work-in-progress to your own browser as you type.
